At Weyford Nursery and Primary Academy we aim to:

• Create the opportunity for every child to learn a musical instrument
• Play and perform, using voices and musical instruments with increasing accuracy, control, and expression
• Improvise and compose music for a range of purposes
• Listen with attention to detail and recall sounds
• Use and understand staff and other musical notations
• Appreciate and understand a range of live and recorded music drawn from different traditions
